Tailored Finance Solutions Australia (TFSA) Privacy Policy

At TFSA, we understand that the details you provide us are private and personal. It’s important that you feel secure whenever you deal with us. It’s also important that you understand how we protect your privacy, as the manner in which we may use your details. As such our procedures relating to personal information are designed to ensure that you are fully protected under Australian privacy laws.

What do we mean by ‘personal information’?

Credit information is information which is used to assess your eligibility to be provided with finance and may include any finance that you have outstanding, your repayment history in respect of those loans, and any defaults. Usually, credit information is exchanged between credit and finance providers and credit reporting bodies.
The kinds of personal information we may collect about you include your name, date of birth, address, account details, occupation, and any other information we made need to identify you.
If you are applying for finance we may also collect the ages and number of your dependants and cohabitants, the length of time at your current address, your employment details and proof of earnings and expenses, assets and liability statements and your requirements for finance and a needs analysis. We will also collect personal information when you submit queries to us through our website. This is so that we can reply to your queries or requests for service.
If you apply for any insurance product through us we may also collect your health information. We will only collect health information from you with your consent

Why we collect your personal information?

The main reasons why we would collect personal information about you is to assess your financial and credit position when you apply for a service from us. The information you submit or send electronically is received by our network and stored in our database. In sending us the application, you accept that you have granted us consent to use any personal information within our organisation for the purposes we prescribe including responding to your queries, re-publishing information on our site, and compiling our databases and research for marketing purposes.

How do we collect your personal information?

We aim to collect your personal information directly from you. If for some good reason, we are unable to do so, we may involve another organisation. For example, we may need to request a credit report from a credit reporting agency when you apply for a credit facility. Before doing so or prior to collecting the information we need, we will inform you of the type of organisations we intend to disclose your personal information to.

At TFSA we want to provide our customers with the very best products and services. At times, we may partner with another organisation to support the products and services we offer (for example, telecommunications services). By law, we are required to hold certain information about you, even after you are no longer a TFSA customer. However, after such time you can be assured we will destroy your personal information thoroughly and safely. We may also hold certain information about you if it is needed for a purpose which you are aware of or reasonably expect us to hold the information. When that information is no longer needed, it will be destroyed or permanently de-identified.

How safe and secure is the information we hold about you?

We take great care with the information we hold about you. Our aim is to ensure that any details are securely protected from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We will take reasonable care to make sure that we keep your information in an accurate, complete and up to date manner. When that information is no longer needed, it will be permanently destroyed or de-identified. While we will take all due care in protecting the security, confidentiality and privacy of the information submitted by you, we cannot guarantee that our systems will be completely free from third party interception or damage to information transmitted by email which is caused by viruses.

When we receive a complaint, we look on it as valuable feedback that may help us to improve the services we offer and to ensure your needs are met in a satisfactory and appropriate manner.
